I wonder a lot if young people today feel pressured to go much further physically than they would like to because they want people to like them. . . mostly the guy or girl they're involved with.
I think if people realized how special they are, had more of a sense of their own unique value, if it would prevent a lot of broken hearts when they are used just for what their body can do, not what their mind and heart, their soul is meant for. I think there's a lot of lonely, empty hearts out there, yearning to be accepted and loved. Our generation is lonely . . . wants security and acceptance, to belong. I think everyone struggles with self-esteem to some degree.
I wonder if we began to accept ourselves as the gift to the world that we truly are. We are each created with our own special, unrepeatable gifts, and I think if more of us began to realize this, we'd begin to see that happiness is about fulfilling that special role that is only ours, and ours alone.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like I have to be someone completely different for people to like me. My boyfriend wants me to loosen up with physical stuff, my parents want me to be really mature, and my friends want me to be wild and carefree. I am always trying to fit into a mold so I forget who I really am. I think its easier to hear how I am "a gift to the world" than it is to actually believe it. I think sometimes we just have to step back and reflect on how we see ourselves and how we can be that gift.
